  8. ADHD problems

    beautythroughalookingglass:

Having to set an alarms for everything just in case you forget

Feeling constantly bored even when you’re doing something

    Low self esteem

Knows you’re smart but the grades don’t correlate

Wonders why I can’t keep friendships

Getting Angry when being told what to do in a bossy tone

Having to be really early to everything because you fear you’ll be late

Working really hard on an assignment for weeks to only get a pass and other students did it in a night and get a high distinction

    Being randomly sad

Finding out something good and being overtly happy

    Accidentally saying something inappropriate

Not wanting to do anything out of fear that people will think you’re seeking “attention”

Not wanting to make friends due to people finding you “annoying”

Having a really messy house then randomly cleaning everything to a tee

Unable to save any money as have the urge to spend it

Unable to listen to a song without skipping it

Unable to read a book without doing something then coming back to it.

  9. Things I didn’t know were ADHD until I had to pry it out of my family

    videogamelover99:

    • knowing exactly what I was going to write here two seconds ago, and not knowing what to write
    • 3PM “Oh cool.” 6 PM “I’ve got tons of time!” 7PM “It’s fine. I’ll get there.” 9PM “Shit I should really get there.” 11PM Anxiety and inability to do anything. 2AM Crying
    • Doing a thing but then remembering about another thing, so the thing you’re working on never gets finished because you’re too busy thinking and worrying that other thing
    • Remembering half-way through the conversation that somebody’s talking to you, then pretending you know what they’re talking about.
    • You can’t hear a word from the person across from you, but you know that Sharon in the back of the room is getting really tired of her relationship and stop trash talking your boyfriend, Sharon, I’m trying to think.
    • Listening to a lecture. Hearing the words. Not knowing what the fuck those words mean.
    • Points at diagram. Oooh. I forgot what it’s called though but I know that’s that thing.
    • Having a conversation with someone and having an exciting thought in the middle so you have no idea what they’re saying bc you’re too busy thinking your thought.
    • “So then we-” “HEY GUYS I REALIZED BLACK ISN’T A COLOR. FOB WERE WRONG.” “…” “Sorry.”
    • Skipping in public
    • Weird tics include: stepping on leaves, ripping up leaves, ripping up paper, crinkling paper, rubbing feet on the carpet, rubbing feet on the pavement, twirling hair, chewing on hair, running hands though hair, tapping, jumping up and down, snapping, smelling old books? Smelling paint.
    • Doing a task and then getting up and pacing because new idea.
    • Making up excuses like going to the bathroom/ sharpening already murder-capable pencil in order to pace.
    • Singing? Though mostly avoid in public
    • Words. Do not. Work in mouth.
    • Forgetting the name of the friend you had since middle school, but remembering that the Reign of Terror made a religion that worshiped a giant paper-mâché hill.
  10. softandfulloflove:

You’ve probably heard of depression meals, but have you considered ADHD meals:

    • Literally inhaling everything in your fridge when your meds wear off and you realize you haven’t eaten all day
    • Can’t decide what to eat so you just sit there hungry for like an hour
    • Alternatively, can’t decide what to eat so you snack on everything
    • An entire family-size bag of chips that you absentmindedly finished while watching tv (bonus points if you barely even remember eating them)
    • Frozen vegetables because fresh ones go bad before you can get around to using them
    • Leftover takeout because you ordered it last night but had so many snacks while waiting that you were too full to eat it when it showed up
    • Anything microwaveable
    • Eating leftovers cold right in front of the fridge because too much executive dysfunction to heat them up
    • Too much executive dysfunction to combine your ingredients into the meal you were planning to make so you just eat them individually
    • “This doesn’t even taste good but I need to finish it anyway, I committed to this snack”
    • Trail mix and other super calorie dense food when you’re on your meds and can’t stomach a meal
    • Ice cream directly out of the container at 2 am
  11. adhighdefinition:

waking up early when you have adhd is risky because there’s always this huge possibility that your brain won’t let you go back to sleep because “this is too boring now” and then you gotta wait the next few hours till you’re deadass exhausted in order for your brain to accept sleep as an option

*shifts my eyes to try and snap out of it*
